The Bumblin' Bones second album is an exploration into the motivation behind self sabotage. it's not so much a phoenix rising from the ashes as it is searching through a halfway scorched house looking for the home that used to be there. The song "Ignitin' Friends" sings of Sarah choosing to continue burning a candle beneath her bruises because sometimes embracing your bad thoughts and habits is the only way to regain your sense of self. In "Flint" the fire in the singers house is literally personified into a flame named Flint that the singer considers a friend who keeps the breeze growing inside his burning home. That theme of cherry-picking the comfort from the chaos runs through every song on the album. Let's Go Explorin'...With Fire! is, in essence. a rallying call to set aflame a tranquil wood, in order to see the peaceful woodland sprites.
